Maxime Maufra: A collection of 173 works (HD)

Maxime Maufra: A collection of 173 works (HD) Description: "Maxime Maufra (French, 1861–1918) was a painter and printmaker loosely associated with the Pont-Aven school and best known for his marine landscapes. He was trained by the landscape painter Charles Le Roux in his hometown of Nantes in France. After visiting Britain in 1883 and seeing the work of Thomas Gainsborough, John Constable, and J.M.W. Turner, Maufra gave up his business career to become a painter. He traveled extensively throughout Normandy and Brittany, where he met Synthetist painters Paul Sérusier and Paul Gaugin at Pont-Aven in 1890. The flat planes of vivid color in Maufra’s seascape The Cliffs at Beg-ar-Fry, Saint-Jean-du-Doigt (1895) indicate the influence of Synthetism. Maufra first exhibited his work at the Paris Salon in 1886 and later with Parisian dealer Paul Durand-Ruel. Maufra’s work is currently held in the collections of the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, among others." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters LIST OF ARTISTS already posted on LearnFromMasters: https://goo.gl/hri4HE --- Thank you so much for your support!

Walter Moras: A collection of 164 paintings (HD)

Walter Moras: A collection of 164 paintings (HD) Description: "Walter Moras was a German landscape painter. Best known for his depictions of rural scenes and winter forests, Moras employed a realist technique while simplifying forms and detail so as to soften the overall effect of his images. Born on January 20, 1856 in Berlin, Germany, Moras went on to study with the painter Hermann Eschke, who specialized in landscape and maritime scenes. He primarily made his work in Brandenburg, which is located on the outskirts of Berlin, though he also made several painting trips to the Netherlands and Italy. He started exhibiting when he was 20 years old, and continued to show work throughout his life. Today, Moras’ paintings can be found mostly in collections in Germany, including the Nationalgalerie Berlin, the Kunstforum Ostdeutsche Galerie in Regensburg, and the Kulturhistoriches Museum Magdenburg. He died on March 6, 1925 in Harzburg, Germany." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters LIST OF ARTISTS already posted on LearnFromMasters: https://goo.gl/hri4HE --- Thank you so much for your support!

Ferdinand du Puigaudeau: A collection of 120 paintings (HD)

Ferdinand du Puigaudeau: A collection of 120 paintings (HD) Description: "As a young boy, du Puigaudeau was close to his uncle Henri de Chateaubriant, who encouraged his artistic pursuits. His education was traditional and he studied at various boarding schools from Paris to Nice. In 1882, du Puigaudeau travelled to Italy, then to Tunisia, and taught himself to paint. The first work which can be safely attributed to du Puigaudeau was dated 1886, the year he visited Pont-Aven where he befriended Charles Laval and Paul Gauguin with whom he decided to travel to Panama and Martinique, but was unable to do so as he was called up for military service. In 1890, he presented one of his works at the Salon of the Société Nationale des Beaux Arts at a time when his father had introduced him to the dealer Paul Durand-Ruell. He got married on 7 August 1893 in Saint-Nazaire, and had one daughter named Odette. In 1895 he settled down in Pont-Aven for three years. After falling out with Durand-Ruell in 1903, he visited Venice in 1904 where he produced many canvases but subsequently returned to Batz-sur-Mer with serious financial problems. 1907 saw him move into the manor house of Kervaudu in Le Croisic which had been loaned to him by friends. The Great War of 1914 isolated him from the rest of the world. Degas himself called him "the hermit of Kervaudu" due to his secluded and solitary existence. In 1919 he began to prepare an exhibition in New York, and worked on it for four years, but it was cancelled at the last minute. This failure had dire repercussions and he fell into a state of depression and alcohol abuse. He died on 19 September 1930" --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters LIST OF ARTISTS already posted on LearnFromMasters: https://goo.gl/hri4HE --- Thank you so much for your support!

Aleksandr Golovin vs Turkey (Home) 2018

Aleksandr Golovin: A collection of 120 works (HD)

Description: "Aleksandr Yakovlevich Golovin (Russian: Алекса́ндр Я́ковлевич Голови́н, Russian pronunciation: ; March 1 [O.S. February 17] 1863 – April 17, 1930) was a Russian artist and stage designer. He designed productions for Sergei Diaghilev, Constantin Stanislavski, and Vsevolod Meyerhold.

Born at Moscow, Golovin initially studied architecture, later switching to painting. He also attended the Académie Colarossi. Due to financial difficulties, upon graduation he worked as an interior painter and decorator. He also tried his hand at various artistic fields such as furniture design. In 1900 he took part in designing the Russian Empire pavilion at the Paris World's Fair together with his friend K.A. Korovin. He studied at the Académie Vitti in Paris. In 1901 he moved to the Saint Petersburg region from Moscow. It was here that he came into his own as a stage designer, combining symbolism and modernism on operatic and dramatic productions for Diaghilev, Meyerhold and others. After the Revolution of 1917, Golovin found work in theatre less and less often, and so delved into painting and graphic illustration.

Golovin provided the set design for the 1910 original production of Stravinsky's The Firebird ballet.

Golovin provided the scenic design for an important production of Pierre Beaumarchais's The Marriage of Figaro at the Moscow Art Theatre. The seminal Russian theatre practitioner Constantin Stanislavski directed the play in fast and free-flowing production that opened on 28 April 1927, having been rehearsed since the end of 1925. Stanislavski re-located the play's action to pre-Revolutionary France and trimmed its five-act structure to eleven scenes; Golovin employed a revolve to quicken scene-changes. It was a great success, garnering ten curtain calls on opening night.

Golovin was appointed a People's Artist of the RSFSR. He died in Detskoye Selo on April 17, 1930."
