Wassily Kandinsky: A collection of 366 works (HD)

Wassily Kandinsky: A collection of 366 works (HD) Description: "One of the pioneers of abstract modern art, Wassily Kandinsky exploited the evocative interrelation between color and form to create an aesthetic experience that engaged the sight, sound, and emotions of the public. He believed that total abstraction offered the possibility for profound, transcendental expression and that copying from nature only interfered with this process. Highly inspired to create art that communicated a universal sense of spirituality, he innovated a pictorial language that only loosely related to the outside world, but expressed volumes about the artist's inner experience. His visual vocabulary developed through three phases, shifting from his early, representative canvases and their divine symbolism to his rapturous and operatic compositions, to his late, geometric and biomorphic flat planes of color. Kandinsky's art and ideas inspired many generations of artists, from his students at the Bauhaus to the Abstract Expressionists after World War II." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters LIST OF ARTISTS already posted on LearnFromMasters: https://goo.gl/hri4HE --- Thank you so much for your support!

Alfred Henry Maurer: A collection of 248 works (HD)

Description: "Alfred Maurer was born in New York on April 21, 1868. In 1884, he studied at the National Academy of Design, New York, where he became recognized as an accomplished painter of portraits, inspired by ames Whistler and American impressionist William Merritt Chase

From 1897–1914 Maurer lived in Paris where he became acquainted with fellow Americans Gertrude and Leo Stein. It was in the Stein’s salon, a well-known meeting place for Americans and modern French artists, that Maurer met Henri Matisse.

Matisse’s use of color in his fauvist paintings influenced Maurer’s work, and between 1905 and 1914, he began creating paintings using the bold fauve palette and the dark outlines of pre-cubist art.

He exhibited in 1909 at Alfred Stieglitz's Gallery 291 in New York, in the 1913 New York Armory Show, and was an associate member of the modernist Salon d’Automne in Paris.

In 1914, on the eve of World War I, Maurer permanently returned to New York.

In 1924, art dealer Ernest Weyhe purchased the contents of Maurer’s studio, over 255 works, and Weyhe became his artistic representative, providing Maurer financial security.

At the age of 64, Maurer took his own life on August 4, 1932, just several weeks after his father’s death. Though he had little commercial success in his lifetime, he is highly respected in the art world today. "
