William Turner: A collection of 1530 paintings (HD) Description: "Turner took classical genres and scenes - the stately landscape in well-designed compositions and historical events writ large - and infused them with a new dynamic in painting. He reflected on the increasing importance of individual experience in the era of the Enlightenment, where the perceptions of human beings led to exalted personal moments and sublime interactions with nature. Through this dedication to rendering heightened states of consciousness and being, he helped define the cross-disciplinary artistic movement of Romanticism, setting the stage for later developments in painting subjective experiences that would lead to Impressionism. In some of his later works especially, Turner responded to the arrival of the modern era by making the contraptions of human invention powerfully, sometimes threateningly present.. --- MUSIC: Kevin MacLeod - Almost in F - Tranquillity Almost in F - Tranquillity by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1100394 Artist: http://incompetech.com/ SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters --- Thank you so much for your support!

Armand Guillaumin: A collection of 497 works (HD) Description: "Jean Baptiste Armand Guillaumin (French 1841–1927) is one of the original members of the group of artists who started Impressionism, though he did not achieve the fame and repute of his contemporaries. The artist was born in Paris, and worked a series of odd jobs while honing his drawing skills in evening lessons. The lessons led Guillaumin to attend the Académie Suisse, where he met Camille Pissarro (French, 1830–1903) and Paul Cézanne (French, 1839–1906). The artist showed several of his paintings at the 1863 Salon des Refusés. In the 1870s, unable to make a living as a painter, Guillaumin moved to Pontoise, a tiny village where he was able to find night work. This allowed him to paint during the day, using the natural light for which the Impressionists are so well known. Cézanne eventually joined the other artists in the village, and he and Guillaumin briefly took up residence together. It was during this period that they participated in the first ever Impressionist exhibition in 1874. In the 1880s, the artist made the acquaintance of Vincent Van Gogh, (Dutch, 1853–1890) whose brother, Theo, would later help him to sell a few pieces. Perhaps due to the influence of Van Gogh’s bold style, the following decade saw a shift in Guillaumin’s use of color, he began to use brighter and more expressive hues to define his compositions, almost in anticipation of the Fauve movement. During this late period of his life, the artist traveled throughout France and Europe. Guillaumin died in 1927 at the age of 86 in Orly, Val-de-Marne, making him the last remaining survivor of the Impressionist group." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters LIST OF ARTISTS already posted on LearnFromMasters: https://goo.gl/hri4HE --- Thank you so much for your support!

Fritz Thaulow: A collection of 178 works (HD) *UPDATE (added ~20 new artworks than previous video) Description: "Norwegian painter Frits Thaulow was born in 1847 and traveled throughout Europe. Though famous for his landscape painting, he is also known for combining Realism and Impressionism in his work. Born in a small town in Norway, Frits Thaulow was the son of a wealthy chemist. His father’s money gave him the chance to work with some of the leading artists of his time. Thaulow worked with several tutors and painters to perfect his art. Early in his career, Thaulow studied maritime art and planned to work in the field, but he later found himself interested in landscape art. After traveling between Norway and France for several years, Thaulow made the permanent move to France, where he lived and worked for the last few years of his life. Thaulow moved to Paris early in his career and worked on a number of paintings. Though Realism was popular in Norway, Paris was the center of the Impressionist movement. When he attempted to paint Impressionist landscapes, he found himself incorporating realistic elements from his childhood. Art historians now often regard the artist’s work as a combination of Realist and Impressionist elements. Those elements are clear inHorses Watering at the Bridge at Montreiul sur Mer. The interesting lines and pale color choices are clearly the work of an Impressionist, while the realistic look of the horses and the houses on the shore fall into the Realism movement. Another of his famous pieces is Summer Landscape with a Bridge at Beaulieu, which centered on a small creek. In 1880, Thaulow left Paris and returned to Norway, where he lived for more than a decade. While in France, he learned many Impressionist techniques that he later brought to his home country. Thaulow often focused on the landscapes and cities near his hometown. He completed a series of paintings of skiers on the slopes of a small town before moving back to Paris. Moving to France helped Thaulow expand his paintings to include French settings. He created the pieces The Battery and At Quimperle later in his career. Thaulow spent the last fourteen years of his life living in Paris and painting the French countryside as well as recreating memories from his home country. By combining elements of Realism and Impressionism in his landscapes, Thaulow created his own movement, and he’s responsible for introducing the Impressionist style to Norway." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters LIST OF ARTISTS already posted on LearnFromMasters: https://goo.gl/hri4HE --- Thank you so much for your support! #LearnFromMasters #NorwegianPainter #ImpressionistMovement #OnlineArtGallery #CollectionOfPaintings #ArtHistory #FritzThaulow #TASCHEN
Maxime Maufra: A collection of 173 works (HD)
Description: "Maxime Maufra (French, 1861–1918) was a painter and printmaker loosely associated with the Pont-Aven school and best known for his marine landscapes. He was trained by the landscape painter Charles Le Roux in his hometown of Nantes in France. After visiting Britain in 1883 and seeing the work of Thomas Gainsborough, John Constable, and J.M.W. Turner, Maufra gave up his business career to become a painter. He traveled extensively throughout Normandy and Brittany, where he met Synthetist painters Paul Sérusier and Paul Gaugin at Pont-Aven in 1890. The flat planes of vivid color in Maufra’s seascape The Cliffs at Beg-ar-Fry, Saint-Jean-du-Doigt (1895) indicate the influence of Synthetism. Maufra first exhibited his work at the Paris Salon in 1886 and later with Parisian dealer Paul Durand-Ruel. Maufra’s work is currently held in the collections of the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, among others."
