Marcel Dyf: A collection of 208 paintings (HD)

Marcel Dyf: A collection of 208 paintings (HD) Description: "Marcel Dyf was a French artist known for his delicate Impressionist landscapes. Born Marcel Dreyfus on October 7, 1899 in Paris, France, the painter spent his childhood in Normandy where he was exposed to new ideas in art-making and was captivated by the work of Pierre-Auguste Renoir. A move to Arles in 1922 solidified his commitment to being an artist, finding further inspiration from the style of Old Masters such as Rembrandt van Rijn and Johannes Vermeer. He traveled extensively to capture his natural scenes, but focused on three French regions in particular—Brittany, Ile de France, and Provence—for his plein air works. Dyf died on September 15, 1985 in Bois-d’Arcy at the age of 85." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters LIST OF ARTISTS already posted on LearnFromMasters: https://goo.gl/hri4HE --- Thank you so much for your support!

Julian Onderdonk: A collection of 182 paintings (HD)

Julian Onderdonk: A collection of 182 paintings (HD) Description: "Julian Onderdonk was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Robert Jenkins Onderdonk, a painter, and Emily Gould Onderdonk. He was raised in South Texas and was an enthusiastic sketcher and painter. As a teenager Onderdonk was influenced and received some training from the prominent Texas artist Verner Moore White who also lived in San Antonio at the time. He attended the West Texas Military Academy, graduating in 1900. At 19, with the help of a generous neighbor, Julian left Texas in order to study with the renowned American Impressionist William Merritt Chase. Julian's father, Robert, had also once studied with Chase. Julian spent the summer of 1901 on Long Island at Chase's Shinnecock School of Art. He studied with Chase for a couple of years and then moved to New York City to attempt to make a living as an en plein air artist. While in New York he met and married Gertrude Shipman and they soon had a son. Onderdonk returned to San Antonio in 1909, where he produced his best work. His most popular subjects were bluebonnet landscapes. Onderdonk died on October 27, 1922 in San Antonio. President George W. Bush decorated the Oval Office with three of Onderdonk's paintings. The Dallas Museum of Art has several rooms dedicated exclusively to Onderdonk's work. His art studio currently resides on the grounds of the Witte Museum." --- MUSIC: Kevin MacLeod - Mesmerize Mesmerize by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1500005 Artist: http://incompetech.com/ SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters LIST OF ARTISTS already posted on LearnFromMasters: https://goo.gl/hri4HE --- Thank you so much for your support!

Edward Arthur Walton: A collection of 68 paintings (HD)

Edward Arthur Walton: A collection of 68 paintings (HD) Description: "Painter, who became one of the 'Glasgow Boys'. Born in East Renfrewshire Walton trained briefly in Dusseldorf (Germany), before returning to study at the Glasgow School of Art. Here he met, and began to paint with James Guthrie and Joseph Crawhall The group later widened to include George Henry and John Lavery and became known as the 'Glasgow Boys'. Walton acquired a studio in Cambuskenneth in the late 1880s and many of the Glasgow Boys were visitors. Walton is recognised as one of the leading Scottish painters of his generation, specialising in both portraits and landscape subjects. He used detailed textures in his work and typically offset pure whites, symbolising the innocence of his subjects, against contrasting dark backgrounds. This technique reflected the influence of the English artist James Whistler who Walton greatly admired. Walton moved to London in 1894 and became a neighbour of Whistler. Walton had a studio in Cheyne Walk (Chelsea), where he painted until 1904, when he was persuaded to return to Scotland by Guthrie and settled in Edinburgh specialising in portraiture. Walton's son was to become Professor of Botany at the University of Glasgow" --- MUSIC: Chris Zabriskie - NirvanaVEVO NirvanaVEVO by Chris Zabriskie is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://chriszabriskie.com/uvp/ Artist: http://chriszabriskie.com/ SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters LIST OF ARTISTS already posted on LearnFromMasters: https://goo.gl/hri4HE --- Thank you so much for your support! #LearnFromMasters #ScottishPainter #OnlineArtGallery #CollectionOfPaintings #ArtHistory #EdwardArthurWalton #Taschen

Henri Harpignies: A collection of 115 works (HD)

Henri Harpignies: A collection of 115 works (HD) Description: "Henri Joseph Harpignies was a French landscape painter and member of the Barbizon School of artists. Harpignies’ work was deeply influenced and similar to the paintings of his friend Camille Corot, another Barbizon member. His landscapes have a wispy yet exacting descriptive power, and often feature rows of trees and country roads. Born on June 28, 1819 in Valenciennes, France, he rebelled against his parents’ wishes to pursue a business career and began to seriously study painting at the age of 27. He had lasting success exhibiting in the Parisian Salons from 1861 onward, with his work now appearing in the collections of the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, the National Gallery in London, and the Art Institute of Chicago, among others. Harpignies died on August on 26, 1916 in Saint-Privé, France. Francis Cadell: A collection of 184 works (HD)

Francis Cadell: A collection of 184 works (HD) Description: "Francis Cadell was born in Edinburgh, the son of Francis Cadell FRCSE, a surgeon His childhood home was at 22 Ainslie Place on Edinburgh's prestigious Moray Estate, and was educated at the Edinburgh Academy. His sister was Jean Cadell a well-known actress. From the age of 16 he studied in Paris at the Académie Julian, where he was in contact with the French avant-garde of the day. While in France, his exposure to work by the early Fauvists, and in particular Matisse, proved to be his most lasting influence. After his return to Scotland, he was a regular exhibitor in Edinburgh and Glasgow, as well as in London. Cadell was a left-handed painter. While a student, the President of the Royal Scottish Academy tried to stop him painting with his left hand because 'No artist ever became great who did so.' Cadell swiftly replied 'Sir and did not the great Michelangelo paint with his left hand?' The President did not respond and left the room quickly. A fellow student asked Cadell how he had known that Michelangelo was left-handed. Cadell confessed 'I didn't know but nor did the president.' Cadell spent much of his adult life in Scotland and had little direct contact with many of the new ideas that were being developed abroad. He therefore tended to use subjects and environments that were close at hand – landscapes, fashionable Edinburgh New Town house interiors, still life and figures in both oil and watercolour. He is particularly noted for his portraits of glamorous women whom he painted in a loose, impressionistic manner, depicting his subject with vibrant waves of colour. He enjoyed the landscape of Iona enormously, which he first visited in 1912 and features prominently in his work. During the 1920s he spent several summers with Samuel Peploe, another Scottish Colourist, on painting trips to Iona, and was also friends with the Scottish architect Reginald Fairlie. During World War I he served in the 9th Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders and the 9th Royal Scots regiments. He lived at 6 and 22 Ainslie Place, Edinburgh from 1920-1932. During this time he befriended Reginald Fairlie who lived at 7 Ainslie Place and they remained friends thereafter. He then lived at 30 Regent Terrace from 1932-1935 where he found it more and more difficult to sell his paintings because of the economic climate. He finally moved to 4 Warriston Crescent where he died in poverty on 6 December 1937. Two of his paintings were offered for over £500,000 in 2009. Cadell's Estate is represented by Portland Gallery, London." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters LIST OF ARTISTS already posted on LearnFromMasters: https://goo.gl/hri4HE --- Thank you so much for your support! #LearnFromMasters #ScottishPainter #FrancisCadell #OnlineArtGallery #CollectionOfPaintings #ArtHistory #TASCHEN

Julius Paulsen: A collection of 45 paintings (HD)

Description: "Danish painter. He studied at the Kongelige Akademi for de Skønne Kunster, Copenhagen (1879-82), but found the training there uninspired and soon attached himself to more radical artists such as Peder Severin Krøyer and Laurits Regner Tuxen. A turning-point in his career came in 1885 when, with Viggo Johansen and Krøyer, he went to Paris. On the way they visited Amsterdam, where the art of Rembrandt made a great impact on Paulsen. In Paris he showed interest in Courbet and Monet, and, together with Johansen and Krøyer, he exhibited at the Salon.

From 1886 his time was shared between landscape, figure and portrait painting. His first landscape, From the Village of Ry (1886; Copenhagen, Hirschsprungske Samling), is an early example of his personal blend of Romanticism and Symbolism; it shows a golden sunset colouring the houses and gardens of the small village. His View from the Harbour after Sunset (1891; Copenhagen, Hirschsprungske Samling) has much in common with Monet, the Copenhagen skyline barely discernible through a deep blue and iridescent atmosphere. A later visit to Paris inspired such sunlit townscapes as Under the Pont des Arts, Paris, the shimmering, sketchy surface of which is dominated by fresh blues and greens; the painting incorporates a favourite Impressionist motif, the curved filigree of the iron bridge, which both frames the scene and lends it tension."
