Walter Moras: A collection of 164 paintings (HD)

Walter Moras: A collection of 164 paintings (HD) Description: "Walter Moras was a German landscape painter. Best known for his depictions of rural scenes and winter forests, Moras employed a realist technique while simplifying forms and detail so as to soften the overall effect of his images. Born on January 20, 1856 in Berlin, Germany, Moras went on to study with the painter Hermann Eschke, who specialized in landscape and maritime scenes. He primarily made his work in Brandenburg, which is located on the outskirts of Berlin, though he also made several painting trips to the Netherlands and Italy. He started exhibiting when he was 20 years old, and continued to show work throughout his life. Today, Moras’ paintings can be found mostly in collections in Germany, including the Nationalgalerie Berlin, the Kunstforum Ostdeutsche Galerie in Regensburg, and the Kulturhistoriches Museum Magdenburg. He died on March 6, 1925 in Harzburg, Germany." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters (By donating at least 50$ you'll have acces to all artworks (JPEG files) collection already posted on this channel!) William Trost Richards: A collection of 373 works (HD)

William Trost Richards: A collection of 373 works (HD) Description: "William T. Richards was forced at the young age of 13 to drop out of school to help financially support his family. He worked as a design illustrator for a gas lamp company. However, Richards was able to return to his studies later and worked privately with Paul Weber in 1850. From 1853-56 he traveled through Florence, Rome, and Paris with fellow artists Paul Weber and William Stanley Haseltine. When he returned to America he settled in Germantown and married. For many years Richards was preoccupied with literary themes in landscapes and painted true to nature with accurate detail that reveals the influence of the Pre-Raphaelites. After a brief visit to Britain, Richards became increasingly more interested in marine paintings, for which he is best known. In 1874 he bought one of several homes around the Newport area. He painted around the Aquidneck and Conanicut area until his death in 1905. Richards worked outdoors as much as possible and incorporated grandeur, light and atmosphere in all of his painting." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters (By donating at least 50$ you'll have acces to all artworks (JPEG files) collection already posted on this channel!) Group Of Seven

A film I made on The Group of Seven. A very important starting point to visual artistic career.

Restoring Tom Thomson's The Jack Pine

Painted in the winter of 1916-17 and purchased by the National Gallery in 1918, The Jack Pine is once again on a European tour. After being part of Painting Canada, Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven, at the Dulwich Picture Gallery in London, UK, this work and others are now on their way to Oslo's National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design. The exhibition opens in Oslo on Jan 29. Before The Jack Pine left Canada it underwent the most extensive cleaning and restoration in its history. This short, behind the scenes video, takes you through just how that restoration was done.

Description: "Tom Thomson was a renowned Canadian painter and artist during the early 20th century, who inspired the formation of the ‘Group of Seven’, the first national school of art in Canada, established in 1920. After taking up different odd jobs in Canada and the US, he returned to his hometown, Ontario, to pursue a career in arts. While working in various photo-engraving firms, he honed his artistic skills and started making weekend painting trips with a couple other adventurous painters, until he discovered Algonquin Park, which became his painting hub. His wilderness-themed paintings and sketches were largely inspired by this provincial park. Some of his career’s most popular artworks have been ‘The Northern River’, ‘The Jack Pine’, and ‘The West Wind’. He died unexpectedly at a time when he had just started mastering his craft and getting some recognition. He is counted among Canada’s hugely talented artists, for his superb portrayal of Canadian wilderness on the canvas, his marvelous use of striking colors, and simple interpretation of landscapes. He has been highly credited and appreciated by art historians for marvelously capturing the rugged beauty of Algonquin Park during the early 1910s."
