2018 Mazda CX-5 - Crash Test | World Car PEDESTRIAN PROTECTION Comments The bonnet provided good or adequate protection to the head of a struck pedestrian over most of its surface. The bumper provided good protection to pedestrians' legs while the front of the bonnet showed mixed result in Euro NCAP's tests. The autonomous emergency braking system can detect pedestrians as well as other vehicles. In tests of this functionality, the system performed well, nearly gaining full points with collisions avoided in almost every test scenario. SAFETY ASSIST Comments The CX-5's standard-fit autonomous emergency braking system works at highway speeds and performed well in tests of this functionality, with all collisions avoided or mitigated. The vehicle has a seatbelt reminder for the front and rear seats and a speed assistance system as standard. A lane assistance system is an option and not included in this assessment. Comments The passenger compartment of the CX-5 remained stable in the frontal offset test. Dummy readings indicated good protection of the knees and femurs of both the driver and passenger. Mazda showed that a similar level of protection would be provided to occupants of different sizes and to those sat in different positions. In the full-width rigid barrier test, protection of both the driver and the rear seat passenger was good or adequate. In both the side barrier test and the more severe side pole impact, protection of all critical body regions was good and the CX-5 scored maximum points. Tests on the front seats and head restraints demonstrated good protection against whiplash injury in the event of a rear-end collision. A geometric assessment of the rear seats indicated good whiplash protection there too. The CX-5 has autonomous emergency braking as standard equipment. Tests of its functionality at the low speeds typical of city driving at which many whiplash injuries are caused showed good performance, with collisions avoided at all test speeds. CHILD OCCUPANT Comments In the frontal offset test, protection of the 10 year dummy was good for the chest and the head. However, dummy readings of neck tension indicated poor protection of this part of the body. Protection of the chest of the 6 year dummy was marginal but that of the head and neck was good. In the side barrier test, both dummies were well protected. The front passenger airbag is automatically disabled to allow a rearward-facing child restraint to be used in that seating position. Mazda showed that the system worked robustly and the system was rewarded. Some universal child restraints should not be used in the front passenger and rear centre seating positions but all restraints tested by Euro NCAP could be properly installed and accommodated in the rear outboard seats. #world car Like, Share and Subscribe Channel:http://bit.ly/worldcars Intro by: RavenProDesign http://www.ravenprodesign.com 2018 Mazda CX-5, Crash Test, New
2018 Porsche Cayenne [Overview] - Interior Exterior | World Car With this new generation, the Cayenne is writing a new chapter in the relationship between driver and vehicle: The Porsche Advanced Cockpit is fully integrated into the sporty, luxurious atmosphere. At the heart of the new display and control concept from Porsche is the 12.3-inch full-HD touchscreen from the latest generation of Porsche Communication Management (PCM), launched last year with the new Panamera. A range of digital functions can be operated intuitively – including by voice control. The standard Porsche Connect Plus allows access to online services and the Internet. This includes the standard online navigation with real-time traffic information. The analogue controls on the new centre console are focused on the main functions of the vehicle. Other buttons are harmoniously integrated into the smartphone-like, glass-look touch surface, giving acoustic and haptic feedback when operated. In typical Porsche style, the driver has a central analogue tachometer to view. This is flanked by two 7-inch full-HD displays, which display all other relevant driving data plus additional information selected using the multi-function steering wheel. Night Vision Assist with a thermal imaging camera is one of the most important assistance systems, along with Lane Change Assist, Lane Keeping Assist including traffic sign recognition, traffic jam assist, ParkAssist including Surround View and Porsche InnoDrive including adaptive cruise control. Your personal Cayenne – more customisation, more online services At the same time, the new PCM brings the next level of customisation. It is not only the start screen and main menu that can be adjusted to the driver’s needs. Up to six individual profiles can also be configured. As well as a large number of interior settings, a profile is used to store specifications for lights, driving programmes and assistance systems. Depending on the equipment, the driver can also apply their own settings to the new sound systems from Bose® and Burmester®. Plus, the new Cayenne is always online if the driver needs it to be – the expanded Connect Plus services are available through the integrated LTE-enabled SIM card. The engine-independent heating, for example, can be programmed remotely via smartphone. In addition, the Offroad Precision App, specially developed for the Porsche Cayenne, is now also available as part of the new standard package. It allows rough-terrain drives to be documented in detail, helping the driver to improve their own skills using video recordings. #world car Like, Share and Subscribe Channel:http://bit.ly/worldcars Intro by: RavenProDesign http://www.ravenprodesign.com 2018 Porsche Cayenne, interior, new
