Alfred Thompson Bricher: A collection of 251 paintings (HD)

Alfred Thompson Bricher: A collection of 251 paintings (HD) Description: "Largely self-taught, Alfred Thompson Bricher was a businessman in Boston from 1851 until 1858 when he became a professional artist. He studied in his leisure hours at the Lowell Institute in Boston and also attended an academy in Newburyport, Massachusetts. In the 1860s Bricher followed his contemporaries to the popular vistas of the White Mountains. There, particularly at North Conway, he studied and painted with Albert Bierstadt, William Morris Hunt, Gabriella Eddy, and Benjamin Champney. Bricher was a prolific artist and in 1860-61 alone records 20 finished paintings. Attesting to his popularity as an artist, as well as the popularity of his subject matter, are numerous chromolithographs made after his work. In 1868 he moved from Boston to New York. In 1874 he became a member of the American Society of Painters in Water Colors. He was elected an associate of the National Academy of Design in 1879. During the 1870s he devoted himself almost entirely to marine painting and spent much of his time exploring the coast of Maine, Narragansett Bay, and the Jersey Shore. His paintings were exhibited at the Boston Athenaeum, the Boston Art Club, the National Academy of Design, the Brooklyn Art Association, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Art, and the Art Institute of Chicago." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com --- Thanks for all support!

Edouard Cortes: A collection of 220 paintings (HD)

Edouard Cortes: A collection of 220 paintings (HD) Description: "Edouard Leon Cortes was born at Lagny (Seine et Marne), a few miles east of Paris on 26 August 1882. It was an exciting epoch into which Edouard Cortès was born. Art, Literature, music and political thought reached a pinnacle of creativity, allowing new schools of artistic expression to evolve. With this revitalized attitude towards new ways of seeing art, experimenting with colour, depth and perspective, Edouard Cortès became enraptured with the idea of becoming a professional painter. At the young age of 17 Cortès began formal studies at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and for five years he expanded his horizons in the fields of classical and impressionistic art. He was a Member of the Society of French Artists and made his debut in Paris in 1907, introducing a style which was considered to be a breath of fresh air and highly individual. As an artist, Edouard Cortès sought to discover the unperceived aspects of nature and man; those special atmospheric qualities of mist in the air, the afternoon sun, evening shadows, rattling carriages and bookstalls along the quays of the river Seine. Cortès captured in oils the unique and magical light of Paris. In some paintings his stonework seems almost to “weather” before our eyes and in others it glistens like pearls against a summer sky. In evening compositions night falls like a gentle veil, wistful and wreath-like, holding intact shadows of the night. Edouard Cortes windows shine brightly, blazing with his lamps glowing, signs shimmer and streets appear wet from a sultry nocturnal rain. Clearly evident is Cortès’ talent for creating the perfect composition, every angle giving way to a new look. Living in the heart of Paris, Cortès was surrounded by the many famous landmarks: Notre Dame, La Madeleine, L’Opera, the Café de la Paix, Place de la Concorde, La Place Vendome, the Eiffel Tower and more. Cortès deliberately chose these sights, studying each from different points of view, at certain times of the day and in varying seasons. The dramatic facades of winter versus summer resulted in entirely different compositions, crystalline white snow, chilled air and buildings standing triumphant in a winter wonderland, versus the sweet smell of summer, flower vendors and book sellers, blazing shadows and glistening white fountains. Unique to Cortès was his impressionistic flair with the brush. With strict precision in the use of his brush and oils, each movement of the paint on canvas made its impact." --- MUSIC: - Kevin MacLeod - Backed Vibes Clean - Rollin at 5 Backed Vibes Clean - Rollin at 5 by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1400029 Artist: http://incompetech.com/ - Kevin MacLeod - Covert Affair - Film Noire Covert Affair - Film Noire by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1100795 Artist: http://incompetech.com/ - Kevin MacLeod - Just As Soon Just As Soon by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1100185 Artist: http://incompetech.com/ SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters LIST OF ARTISTS already posted on LearnFromMasters: https://goo.gl/hri4HE --- Thank you so much for your support!

Camille Corot: A collection of 489 paintings (HD)

Camille Corot: A collection of 489 paintings (HD) Description: "Camille Corot, born as Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, was a famous 19th century French painter known for his landscape painting. He was the leading painter of the Barbizon school—a movement towards realism in art as opposed to romanticism that was more prevalent during that era. He left a profound impact on the later 19th century landscape painting and influenced the Impressionist movement. Corot demonstrated no early talent or love for art as a youngster; he began oil painting only when he was well into his mid 20s. On deciding to pursue art as a profession, he went to study under the landscapist Achille Etna Michallon. Under his tutelage he learnt the art of tracing lithographs, copying three-dimensional forms, and making landscape sketches. Corot also studied under Michallon’s teacher, Jean-Victor Bertin, one of the best Neo-Classic landscape painters in France. While studying under Bertin, Corot began to specialize in landscape painting. He traveled extensively all over France and also visited Italy. During these trips, he would spend time outdoors and paint landscapes. He perfected the skill of rendering an unusual transparency and clarity to his paintings through the use of light and dark tones of colours. Corot was a man so devoted to his art that he never got married and spent his later years engaged in philanthropic activities." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com --- Thanks for all support!

Bruce Crane: A collection of 88 paintings (HD)

Bruce Crane: A collection of 88 paintings (HD) Description: "Bruce Crane was one of America’s best-known Tonalists, adapting the style of the Barbizon School to the American tradition. Born in New York City, Crane began his painting career by seeking out the instruction of Alexander Wyant, who took him to paint in the Adirondack and Catskill Mountains. Wyant’s moody, tonal style had a profound influence on Crane’s work, but he quickly abandoned Wyant’s favored wilderness for more picturesque subjects. Concentrating on open pastures, barnyards, and hayfields, Crane responded to nature’s quiet poetry and delicacy of tone. Crane journeyed to Europe in 1880, spending time in Paris and Grez-Sur-Loing, a pastoral artist’s colony. There, he gained direct exposure to the French Barbizon aesthetic, which introduced an increasingly atmospheric element into his work. When he returned to New York the following year, Crane set out for his favorite painting haunts in the Adirondack woods, Long Island, New Jersey, and Connecticut, creating pastoral landscapes that carried the golden haze of summer or grey light of fall. Crane’s work was admired by critics and patrons throughout the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries. His paintings were continually on view at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Boston Art Club, and the Corcoran Gallery, and he earned numerous honors over the course of his career, winning prizes from the National Academy of Design, the Society of American Artists, the Carnegie Institute, the Salmagundi Club, the Paris Exposition of 1900, and the St. Louis Exposition of 1904. His paintings are now in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the San Diego Museum of Art, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, and the Wadsworth Athenaeum Museum of Art." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters LIST OF ARTISTS already posted on LearnFromMasters: https://goo.gl/hri4HE --- Thank you so much for your support!

Adelsteen Normann: A collection of 50 paintings (HD)

Adelsteen Normann: A collection of 50 paintings (HD) Description: "Adelsteen Normann at the age of twenty-one moved to Germany to study at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf from 1869 to 1872, under the Estonian painter Eugen Dücker, his paintings belong to the Düsseldorf School of painting. Adelsteen Normann lived in Berlin from 1883 but traveled back to Norway each summer to paint the fjords of Norway. Normann and Hans Dahl both had large wooden villas near Balestrand on the edge of the Sognefjord where they would entertain and paint. Normann lived at the same time as his fellow countryman, Edvard Munch. Normann had seen Munch's work when he had been exhibiting at Kristiania, Norway. He wrote to Munch asking if he would be interested in exhibiting his work in Berlin, and Munch was so happy that he packed up his exhibition in 1892 and went to Berlin where he met Normann. The exhibit caused such a commotion that the Berlin artists split into two groups. It was suspected that the Normann's invitation to Munch was to cause such a split. Normann notably exhibited at the prestigious Salon de Paris from 1882. His photo-realistic oil paintings earned a 'Mention Honorable' in 1884 and he was awarded a bronze medal in 1889, he also exhibited in Oslo, Berlin, London, Vienna, Düsseldorf, Munich, and Paris." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters LIST OF ARTISTS already posted on LearnFromMasters: https://goo.gl/hri4HE --- Thank you so much for your support!
