Jean Michel Basquiat: A collection of 135 works (HD)

Jean Michel Basquiat: A collection of 135 works (HD) Description: "Jean-Michel Basquiat was an American graffiti artist who rose to prominence in the 1980s for being one of the leading lights of the neo expressionist era of the time. His father was employed as an accountant and although he had taught himself to read and write as a child, he did not do as well as he would have liked at school. He dropped out of school and instead studied at a school of alternative education where he learnt art. Although his father had forced him to leave the house after quitting school, he started selling T-shirts in order to take care of his expenses and after a few years he partnered with a friend to create SAMO, a group that painted graffiti in buildings in New York. His work as a graffiti artist got him noticed as an up and coming artist and it was the same work that got him work with a T-shirt company. He even had his own musical band that performed at particular nightclubs but it was as a painter that he made his mark in the 1980s and his work found a lot of buyers due to the high demand of new expressionist art." --- MUSIC: Kevin MacLeod - Dreams Become Real Dreams Become Real by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1500027 Artist: http://incompetech.com/ SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters (By donating at least 50$ you'll have acces to all artworks (JPEG files) collection already posted on this channel!) Jozsef Rippl Ronai: A collection of 218 works (HD)

József Rippl-Rónai: A collection of 218 works (HD) Description: "Hungarian painter. He studied at the Academy of Munich between 1884 and 1887; then, on a Hungarian State scholarship, be travelled to Paris; he lived in France until 1901. While in Paris, he worked in Mihály Munkácsy's studio and visited the Julian Academy. In 1889 he turned away from Munkácsy's style and, together with the Scottish painter Knowles, he moved to Neuilly near Paris. It was here that he developed his style based on the reduction of colours, characteristic of his period between 1889 and 1900. His painting My Grandmother was exhibited in the Salon du Champ-de-Mars in 1894. It was this picture that aroused the interest of the Nabis group (Bonnard, Denis, Vuillard) and of "les artists intelligents", the group of young artists gathered around the magazine "Revue Blanche", who invited Rippl-Rónai to join their company. In 1896 Rippl-Rónai was commissioned by Count Tivadar Andrássy to design the dining room and the entire furniture of his palace in Budapest. In this way he became involved in the applied arts, too, designing glass windows, furniture, chinaware, glasses and gobelins. The embroidery designed by him and executed by his French wife, Lazarinne, won them a silver medal at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1897. In 1890 he left Paris and returned to Hungary, setting in his home town, Kaposvár. Initially, he painted intimate interiors here then developed his characteristic "corn kernels" style, using bright colours and small brush-strokes which left the tiny patches of paint distinct. In 1912 his work was awarded with a silver medal at the International Fine Art Exhibition in Amsterdam: two years later he won a gold medal in Vienna with Maillol's Portrait. In 1925 his work was honoured with Belgium's Medal of the Knight of the Leopold Order. Still in the same year he received an invitation from the Uffizi Gallery of Florence to contribute to is world-famous collection of self-portraits." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters (By donating at least 50$ you'll have acces to all artworks (JPEG files) collection already posted on this channel!) Montague Dawson: A collection of 211 paintings (HD)

Montague Dawson: A collection of 211 paintings (HD) Description: "Montague Dawson was born in London, the son of a sea captain. His grandfather was the successful Midlands landscape painter, Henry Dawson (1811-1878) who had himself moved to Chiswick. Montague Dawson studied under the marine painter Charles Napier Hemy (1841-1917) who, born in Newcastle, lived in London for some years before moving to Falmouth. On completing his studies, Dawson joined a commercial studio specialising in nautical illustrations. Dawson served in the Royal Navy, he contributed illustrations to magazines including “The Sphere”, and having witnessed the surrender of the German High Seas Fleet in 1918, a complete issue of The Sphere was dedicated to the event. After leaving the Navy, Dawson took up painting full-time, living first in London before moving to Milford-on-Sea in Hampshire. Dawson had first exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1917, a Naval subject “The Eyes of the Fleet”, and although frequently painting contemporary marine and naval compositions, his particular interest was in historical works, clipper ships and galleons. Whatever the subject, his paintings are marked by his acute attention to historical detail and his knowledge of ships and the sea. His popularity was such that the New Mariners Museum in Newport Rhode Island opened a wing devoted to his works in 1975, and Presidents Eisenhower and Johnson owned paintings of the US Navy Frigate Constellation. A member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists and a fellow of the Royal Society of British Artists, Dawson was the foremost marine painter of the 20th century. His works can be found in museums in: Cambridge; Edinburgh; London and Newport Rhode Island." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters (By donating at least 50$ you'll have acces to all artworks (JPEG files) collection already posted on this channel!) Pekka Halonen: A collection of 41 works (HD)

Description: "Pekka Halonen was born on 23 September 1865 in Linnasalmi, Lapinlahti, Finland, the son of Olli Halonen, a farmer, and Wilhelmina Halonen (née Uotinen). Halonen's father was himself an amateur artist who not only ran the farm, but also worked as a decorative painter on commissions from churches in neighbouring districts. Halonen often accompanied his father on these painting trips and was thus introduced into the craft of painting.

He studied in Helsinki at the Art Society's Drawing School for four years. He graduated with good grades and won a scholarship to study abroad. He went in 1890 to Paris, where he first studied at the Academie Julian and later under Paul Gauguin. He also studied at the Académie Vitti in Paris.

In 1895 Pekka Halonen married a young music student, Maija Mäkinen. In the beginning of their marriage, the couple lived in several places before settling down in a house with a studio on Lake Tuusula in Tuusula, Finland in 1895. Here the Halonen family lived in an imposing pinewood villa known as ‘Halosenniemi’. Halosenniemi was designed by Pekka Halonen himself and his brother Antti Halonen and was completed in 1902.

The building is now a museum that includes original furnishings and Halonen’s own art. On the shores of the lake where he resided an artists’ community flourished, helping to develop a sense of Finnish national identity. Halosenniemi was designed with the two-storey studios of Paris in mind, with high ceilings and tall windows in the studio, and second-floor living-quarters accessible by a set of stairs and a balcony that overlooked the studio.

Adjacent to the house Halonen built a sauna, which in typical Finnish tradition also served as a laundry. The landscape near Halosenniemi was an important source of inspiration for his art.In Tuusula Halonen had a wide circle of artist friends and relatives which provided him with a daily source of social and cultural stimulation.

Halonen and his wife had eight children, four sons and four daughters. Halonen died in Tuusula on 1 December 1933."
