Edgar Alwin Payne: A collection of 144 paintings (HD) Description: "Painter, muralist. Born in Washburn, MO on March 1, 1883. Payne left home at age 14 and found work painting houses, stage sets, and signs. His travels took him through the Ozarks and into Mexico. Except for a brief period at the Art Institute of Chicago, he remained a self-taught artist. On his first visit to California in 1909 he spent several months painting in Laguna Beach before visiting San Francisco. While in San Francisco he met artist Elsie Palmer whom he married in Chicago in 1912. In 1917 he returned to Glendale, CA with a commission from Chicago’s Congress Hotel for a mural of 11,000 square yards of muslin which was accomplished with the help of other local artists and installed shortly thereafter. In 1918 the Paynes established a home and studio in Laguna Beach where he organized and became the first president of the local art association. He continued painting and exhibiting in Los Angeles and Laguna until 1922 when he and Elsie began a two-year painting tour of Europe. During the next eight years their winter residence was mainly in and around New York City. They traveled from coast to coast in the U.S. until 1932 when they returned to Hollywood and the following year separated. Payne is internationally famous for his canvases depicting Indians riding through desert canyons and landscapes of the Sierra Nevada. He produced a color motion picture called "Sierra Journey" and Payne Lake in the High Sierra is named for him. He died in Hollywood, CA on April 8, 1947." --- MUSIC: Kevin MacLeod - Dhaka Dhaka by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1400003 Artist: http://incompetech.com/ SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters LIST OF ARTISTS already posted on LearnFromMasters: https://goo.gl/hri4HE --- Thank you so much for your support!
John Constable: A collection of 248 paintings (HD) Description: "Constable was, with Joseph Turner, the major English landscape painter of the 19th century. He is best known for his paintings of the English countryside. John Constable was born on 11 June 1776 in East Bergholt in Suffolk, the son of a prosperous miller. He was educated at Dedham Grammar School, then worked for his father's business. He persuaded his father to send him to study at the Royal Academy Schools, which he entered in 1799. In 1816, after much opposition from her father, Constable married Maria Bicknell. She suffered from tuberculosis, so they lived in Hampstead in north London, which was thought to be healthier than central London. In the early 1820s they began frequent visits to Brighton, also for Maria's health. Constable believed that his paintings should come as directly as possible from nature. He made hundreds of outdoor oil sketches, capturing the changing skies and effects of light. He was happiest painting locations he knew well, particularly in his native Suffolk. He also frequently painted in Salisbury, Brighton and Hampstead, making numerous studies of the clouds over the Heath. Maria's death in 1828 was devastating for Constable and left him responsible for their seven children. The following year he was belatedly elected to full membership of the Royal Academy. Constable received little other recognition in Britain in his lifetime, but was much better known in France. In 1824, 'The Hay Wain' won a gold medal at the Salon in Paris and Constable had a profound influence on French Romantic artists. Constable died in London on 31 March 1837." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com --- Thanks for all support!

Stanislav Zhukovsky: A collection of 262 paintings (HD) Description: "Stanislav Zhukovsky was born into the family of an aristocrat deprived of his property and rights of nobility for his involvement in the Polish Revolt of 1863. More in-depth studies of the reasons revealed that the reasons were economical rather than political. Stanislav Zhukovsky’s father most likely did not take part in the revolt, but lost his entail property as a result of economic sanctions inflicted on the revolt sympathizers. As a result Yury Zhukovsky could not keep the family estate in property and became its tenant, as well as most of other representatives of the Byelorussian-Polish nobles. The revolt defeat, exile of his father’s brothers, the loss of his patrimonial estate, the family’s troublesome financial situation and vanished hopes had a substantial impact on the psychoemotional perception of the reality by the artist. Contrary to the will of his father Stanislav Zhukovsky left for Moscow to study painting in 1892. He took classes from Isaac Levitan and graduated from the Moscow Painting, Sculpture and Architecture College. From 1895 Stanislav Zhukovsky participated in exhibitions of the Itineraries. In 1899 his canvass Moonlight Night was acquired by the Tretyakov Gallery. By the early 20th century Stanislav Zhukovsky became one of the most famous impressionist landscape painters in Russia. He also took part in exhibitions of the World of Art group. The artist lived preferentially in Moscow. He organized a private school there and taught from 1907 till 1917. He traveled a lot across Central Russia and studied ancient manor estates. In 1923 the artist immigrated to Poland. In 1930 Joseph Brodsky and other friends persuaded the artist to return to the USSR, but he remained in Poland. During World War II the artist was arrested by the Nazis. Stanislav Zhukovsky died in the concentration camp in Prushkov in 1944." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters LIST OF ARTISTS already posted on LearnFromMasters: https://goo.gl/hri4HE --- Thank you so much for your support!

John Crome: A collection of 110 paintings (HD)
Description: "English landscape painter John Crome was founder of the Norwich School. He trained as a coach painter until 1790. His ambition was to become a landscape painter and he was encouraged by a local collector, Thomas Harvey, who allowed him access to his large collection of British and Dutch paintings. In this way, Crome assimilated the naturalism of artists Meindert Hobbema (1638-1709), Jacob van Ruisdael (1628-82), Jan Wynants (c.1625-84), as well as Thomas Gainsborough (1727-88). By the 1800s he had developed his own style of landscape painting, always based on the rustic East Anglian scenery. In 1803, Crome helped found the Norwich School of Artists, a group of painters which included the watercolourist John Sell Cotman (1782-1842). Crome painted in oils and watercolour and many of his works can be found at the Tate Gallery and the Royal Academy. He is often called 'Old Crome' to distinguish him from his artist son John Bernay Crome (1794-1842). His paintings include View of Mousehold Heath near Norwich (1812, Victoria & Albert Museum, London) and The Poringland Oak (Tate Collection, London)."
