Sidney Richard Percy: A collection of 152 paintings (HD) Description: "Sidney Richard Percy was a 19th-century British landscape painter. Rendered in Naturalist style, his Victorian landscapes often feature a central Thames River framed by meadows, mountains, and sparse foliage. Although Percy frequently included rural figures and animals in his compositions, his focus was on capturing the beauty and atmospheric presence of the empty countryside. He traveled extensively throughout the United Kingdom, drawing inspiration from locations in Wales, Yorkshire, and the Scottish Highlands, among others. Born in London, England on March 22, 1822, he was notably a member of the Barnes School family of artists, which included , George Augustus Williams, and Henry John Boddington. Percy rose to significant popularity despite receiving no formal training. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, and his work was collected by distinguished socialites including Queen Victoria herself. He later suffered an amputation from a horse-riding accident, and died in his home of Sutton, Surrey on April 13, 1886 at the age of 65." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters LIST OF ARTISTS already posted on LearnFromMasters: https://goo.gl/hri4HE --- Thank you so much for your support!

Clarence Gagnon: A collection of 135 works (HD) Description: "Clarence Alphonse Gagnon was a painter, draughtsman, engraver and illustrator who was born in Montreal on November 8, 1881. From 1897 to 1900, Gagnon studied drawing and painting under William Brymner at the Art Association of Montreal. In 1904, Gagnon left for Paris to work in the studio of Jean-Paul Laurens at the Académie Julian. He was able to distinguished himself early in his career by the fine quality of his engravings. Gagnon won a gold medal at the St. Louis Exhibition in 1904 and an honourable mention at the Salon des artistes français in Paris in 1905. From 1909 to 1914, Gagnon moved between Canada, France, and Norway; always working up the sketches he had made in Quebec. Gagnon became a member of the Royal Society of Canada and in 1910, became an associate member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts and a full member in 1922. In 1923, he received the Trevor Prize of the Salmagundi Club of New York. Between 1924 and 1936, Gagnon spent time in Paris and traveled throughout Europe. It was during this period that he illustrated a number of books, including Rouquette's, Le grand silence blanc (1929) and the deluxe edition of Louis Hémon's Maria Chapdelaine (1933), a story that celebrated Canadian frontier life. Upon his return to Quebec in 1936, the Université de Montréal awarded him an honorary doctorate. Clarence Gagnon died in Montreal on January 5, 1942. He was sixty-one years old." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters LIST OF ARTISTS already posted on LearnFromMasters: https://goo.gl/hri4HE --- Thank you so much for your support!
Joaquin Sorolla y Bastida: A collection of 149 paintings (HD)
Description: "Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida began to study painting at the age of fifteen in his native Valencia, Spain. At the age of eighteen, he went to Madrid, where he copied Old Master paintings in the Museo del Prado. Four years later, Sorolla won a grant to study painting in Rome; there he developed a distinct ability for depicting the effects of light.
When Sorolla returned to Madrid, his paintings were in great demand. The paintings he exhibited at the 1901 Exposition Universelle in Paris were very well received. Contributing to his international fame, the Hispanic Society of America commissioned him to paint decorative scenes for its library in New York City in 1911. J. Paul Getty purchased ten of Sorolla's Impressionist beach scenes at auction in 1933. He later explained, "One could hardly imagine greater contrasts than those between a Van Goyen and a Sorolla--but, as I say, I bought what I liked." Sorolla's widow left a large collection of his paintings to the people of Spain. The collection is now a museum, the Museo Sorolla, in the artist's house in Madrid."
