Pablo Picasso: A collection of 855 works (HD)

Pablo Picasso: A collection of 855 works (HD) Description: "Pablo Picasso was the most dominant and influential artist of the first half of the twentieth century. Associated most of all with pioneering Cubism, alongside Georges Braque, he also invented collage and made major contributions to Symbolism and Surrealism. He saw himself above all as a painter, yet his sculpture was greatly influential, and he also explored areas as diverse as printmaking and ceramics. Finally, he was a famously charismatic personality; his many relationships with women not only filtered into his art but also may have directed its course, and his behavior has come to embody that of the bohemian modern artist in the popular imagination. It was a confluence of influences - from Paul Cézanne and Henri Rousseau, to archaic and tribal art - that encouraged Picasso to lend his figures more structure and ultimately set him on the path towards Cubism, in which he deconstructed the conventions of perspective that had dominated painting since the Renaissance. These innovations would have far-reaching consequences for practically all of modern art, revolutionizing attitudes to the depiction of form in space. Picasso's immersion in Cubism also eventually led him to the invention of collage, in which he abandoned the idea of the picture as a window on objects in the world, and began to conceive of it merely as an arrangement of signs that used different, sometimes metaphorical means, to refer to those objects. This too would prove hugely influential for decades to come. Picasso had an eclectic attitude to style, and although, at any one time, his work was usually characterized by a single dominant approach, he often moved interchangeably between different styles - sometimes even in the same artwork. His encounter with Surrealism, although never transforming his work entirely, encouraged not only the soft forms and tender eroticism of portraits of his mistress Marie-Therese Walter, but also the starkly angular imagery of Guernica (1937), the century's most famous anti-war painting. Picasso was always eager to place himself in history, and some of his greatest works, such as Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907), refer to a wealth of past precedents - even while overturning them. As he matured he became only more conscious of assuring his legacy, and his late work is characterized by a frank dialogue with Old Masters such as Ingres, Velazquez, Goya, and Rembrandt." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com --- Thanks for all support!

Jean Gabriel Domergue: A collection of 319 paintings (HD)

Jean Gabriel Domergue: A collection of 319 paintings (HD) Description: "Jean-Gabriel Domergue (French, 1889–1962) was a painter known for his portraits of Parisian women. Born in Bordeaux, Domergue studied at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts, and exhibited works at the Salon des Artistes Français at the age of 17. In 1920, he was awarded the prestigious Prix de Rome. Having already become well known for his landscapes, his career took a turn in the 1920s, during which time he became a painter of Parisian women. Later claiming to be the inventor of the pin-up, Domergue’s women were thin, airy, and elegant, with swanlike necks and wide eyes. Painting over 3,000 portraits over the course of his career, Domergue changed the way women were portrayed, breaking away from the traditional melancholic and vaporish poses. In addition to his portraits of nudes, he was a highly sought after painter in aristocratic circles. He also designed numerous dresses, hats, and accessories for famous couturiers, such as Paul Poiret and Henry Marque. Domergue was also one the main organizers of famous Parisian gala events, such as The Venetian Ball at the Opera in 1922. In 1955, he was appointed curator at the Jacquemart-André Museum in Paris 1955. Under his leadership, numerous exhibitions were held. Most notable were his tributes to Leonardo da Vinci, Georges Seurat, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Vincent van Gogh, Berthe Morisot, and Francisco de Goya. Domergue went on to be named a Knight of the Legion of Honor and Fellow of the Academy of Fine Arts. He died in Paris in 1962. Today, his works can be found in prestigious collections around the world, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and the Royal Collection in London." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters --- Thank you so much for your support!

Aubrey Beardsley: A collection of 211 illustrations (HD)

Aubrey Beardsley: A collection of 211 illustrations (HD) Description: "Aubrey Beardsley's artistic career was remarkably impactful for its brevity. In the seven years he was able to draw and write before succumbing to tuberculosis, Beardsley developed a reputation as one of the most controversial artists of his time. The linear elegance of his designs coupled with the artist's bizarre sense of humor and fascination with the grotesque and taboo simultaneously intrigued and repelled his Victorian audience. His illustrations comprised characteristics of Aestheticism, Decadence, Symbolism, and, most apparently, Art Nouveau. Beardsley's block prints allowed his work to be easily reproduced and widely circulated. The diabolic beauty of his work and its overwhelming presence in English publishing houses meant that Beardsley quickly became the most influential draftsman of his time." --- MUSIC: Kevin MacLeod - Mesmerize Mesmerize by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1500005 Artist: http://incompetech.com/ SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: LearnFromMasters01@gmail.com SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters LIST OF ARTISTS already posted on LearnFromMasters: https://goo.gl/hri4HE --- Thank you so much for your support!

Jules Pascin: A collection of 407 works (HD)

Description: "Jules Pascin was a Bulgarian-born French Expressionist painter. Known under the pseudonym of the “Prince of Montparnasse,” Pascin mainly painted women
, in a fleeting, gestural aesthetic akin to the movements of Fauvism or Cubism. Born in Vidin, Bulgaria on March 31, he was educated in Austria and Germany before moving to Paris in 1905. There, he quickly found artistic popularity and became associated with the Modernist movement. He regularly exhibited prints and drawings in various important Parisian salons, including the Salon des Indépendants and satellite exhibitions of the Berlin Secession. Despite achieving success in Europe and North America—Pascin became a naturalized US citizen with the help of Alfred Stieglitz in 1920—he never achieved the critical discourse he craved. Eventually succumbing to depression and alcoholism, he took his own life on the eve of an important solo show on June 5, 1930 at the age of 45. Pascin’s work was appreciated throughout his life and beyond, marked by such achievements as his inclusion in the notorious 1913 Armory Show in New York. Today, his work can be found in the collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Louvre in Paris, the Art Institute of Chicago, and others."
