How to Make a Balisong / Butterfly knife from a Wrench (NO FORGE METHOD)

The Karambit wrench knife turned out so well that it was hardly a few months before I realized I should make another knife from a wrench. This time, we're making a butterfly knife, and you don't even need a forge to do it. Yippee. How To Make a Karambit Knife Out of a Lawnmower Blade

New Book!! Simple Knifemaking - http://www.amazon.com/dp/1534897704/?tag=backyardbowye-20 Thanks for all of the requests for this build! Today we're making a karambit out of an old lawnmower blade. The blade I'm using is sometimes called a universal blade because it has a 1 inch center hole with different sized bushings to fit various lawnmowers. Most of the tools I used including the torch, anvil, hammer, clamps, and angle grinder were found at Harbor Freight Tools. Flattening can be done using almost any hammer or striking tool and a hard, flat surface. I used a 1/8" cobalt bit for drilling the holes. They are very tough bits and work much better for cutting in steel than high speed steel or nitride-coated bits. This one bit drilled about 100 holes in spring steel before becoming dull. http://amzn.to/1QOTmoI Here are some of my books on Amazon. Thanks for the support!
