Misrepresentation of service Inability to speak to anyone in the company other than the ased matchmaker No website org chart or contact informatio I met with the Silicon Valley matchmaker intake person who did an initial assessment.
After hearing what I was interested in and reviewing the personality profile she claimed that this was a good fit and that there were a good pool of men that would meet my criteria. I was very concerned about this as I have had several prior experiences where this has not been the case. I did not review these complaints first but wish I would have. My complaint mirrors all of those listed. My first match was actually a good fit in all ways except for religion.
I was hesitant to meet him but agreed as they said that they build upon the matches by using feedback from the dates to improve each match. The gentleman was nice and had many of the characteristics I was looking for but was not a match. I had no issues with this first match or the matchmaker. I was then transitioned to a second matchmaker as their policy for all subsequent matches. This is where the issues began.
I was contacted with a match who was not at all what I was looking for according to my inventory and assessments. There was an assumption that I would just accept the match as the matchmaker felt it was a good fit. When I questioned her more on the match and then ultimately said no she was incredulous and very judgmental even though the match was not at all what I said I was looking for-based upon my past experiences and wisdom in this process. I then did not hear from her for a long while so I called to check on the situation. She stated that there were a lot of men that were great matches for me based on her judgment but that they did not fit my criteria.
If I would change my criteria I could have access to some great men. She said she would contact me when she had a match.
I called back a few days later to speak to a supervisor as I was concerned about the fact that their were not any matches that met my criteria yet I was specifically told that this was their speciality and that they had plenty of well educated men that made at least what I did or more in the intake process. I also wanted to request a change in my matchmaker as there appeared to be a disconnect between myself and my ased matchmaker. She did not seem to be able to match me with what I was looking for and had her own ideas as to who would be a good match for me not aligned at all with my ideas.
I was given the runaround. I was not able to get a name of a supervisor and told that I must speak to my matchmaker directly. I said OK as I had no other choice. When I got ahold of my matchmaker she had a match for me- just a few days prior she had no-one except the many men who did not meet my criteria. This match seemingly had a lot of good qualities that matched with mine until I asked for more details. Once again this match did not have an education but she was trying to sell me on him even though I said that this is not really going to work for me unless he was in a high leadership position.
She said he was high up based on his salary but had no idea as to his position. I felt that this was a ploy really to avoid a complaint that I have not had a match a month. I then requested to speak to her supervisor once again being told that she would handle any issues. I insisted and she insisted. I said OK how do I connect with her. She told me that she would forward the information on and I could expect a contact in 5 business days.
After reviewing the other complaints I see a pattern in how this business is run. I now believe that I was told things that are not true and that they cannot deliver on the promise of a date a month. I don't believe that this is a personalized service as the information that was gleaned from my intake assessment is not being used in matching. I am requesting a refund as I do not believe that this company is providing me with a personalized matchmaking team, they do not appear to have the selection of men that meet my criteria hence not able to provide one match a month, the company has not obvious org chart or way to file a complaint or even to discuss concerns except by speaking to the matchmaker who as far as I can tell is not a human resource specialist.
There are numerous prior complaints against this business that mimic my own experience and hence they appear to have a consistent culture making believe that any future dealings with them will be similar. I do not believe that they can make good on their promise. If they had told me up front that they have only a few members with the criteria I was looking for then I would not have ed.
I do not think they were transparent and the company has proven to be very difficult to work with to resolve the issue.
